Monster Ball

RAAA RAAA RARAAA, RAAA RAAA U LA LA! my friend Liz and i went to Lady Gaga last week! yes, Lady Gaga. when we were given the opportunity to go, i was hesitant because of the price and she's a bit crazy for me, but the more i thought about it, i had a feeling it would be well worth it. man was i right. she put on one of the best shows i've ever been to. the music, the dancing, the outifts, the latex, the makeup, the glitter: in all its Gaga glory. She is a feisty girl, but man can she sing and dance! i'm thinking she's the next Madonna, for sure.

okay so this is how the night started...imagine getting my mess of hair up into a wig. SO liz had a great idea of slicking it back with panty hose. enough said.

i look like im going to rob a bank!

Tada! all done! how do i look as a blonde?!

little monsters

one of the best parts of the concert was seeing everyone else dressed up too. we were all taking pictures and posing with each other- it was so much fun. they even had a little red carpet that those of us that dressed up could walk on and their people lined up all up and down it taking out photos.

in our amazing seats!

WAY excited

Right before she came on.

There she is! There she is! The crowd went WILD at this point.

Her stage set changed like 7 times. It was SOO cool

love the latex dress

Call when you want,
But there's no one home,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone
Cz I'm out in the club,
And I'm sippin' that bubb,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone

whole 'lotta crotch grabbin' was going on that night

one of her many fanstastic costumes. this one moved- the train and her head pieced open and closed, kinda like a fish

At the end of the concert, she came out wearing a cone bra that shot fire out the ends! yikes

My feet at the end of the night

This was what we woke up to the next morning on our nightstand lamp...HA

Thanks Becky for helping us get awesome tickets!

Garden Update...again

Hey all...just wanted to post some quick pics about my garden since that's pretty much all I talk about these days (well, that and my hubs, pup, and kitty).

I hope everyone is taking time to enjoy this awesome weather outside. Don't forget the sunscreen!

So this was the garden a month ago.....

.....and here it is this morning

The cukes are taking over our yard

Ready to pick! we are going to have so many cucumbers, i am thinking about pickling and canning them.
We are also going to have plenty of tomatoes, basil, and jalapenos, i am thinking about canning some marinara sauce and salsa.

Baby jalapenos

I love the flowers on top of the zucchini!

Baby green pepper

I think this one needs just a few more days

Baby cherry tomatoes

Kel has dubbed this the 'fetal cucumber'

The moon flowers and morning glories a month ago.....

....and today! looking forward to all of the pretty blooms

And I want to send a shout-out to my Aunt Penny! :) A few weeks ago we were at my cousin's open house and I had made a comment about I feel like no one reads my blog...and she goes, "I do! I was just looking at it at 2 this morning!" WOW- thats dedication! I am glad she enjoys it so much :)

Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July everyone! This past weekend we had our '2nd annual'4th of July cookout. We (especially me) had a great time hosting and hope everyone had fun! We are so lucky to have such great friends that all live close. Since we never really had officially celebrated Kellen passing his PE (YAAHOOOOO), I also decided to surprise Kel and also celebrate that in addition to the 4th. Stacie made his favorite cake, people brought surprises (thanks Meg for the carnivorous squirrel), and I got balloons and had his official certificate framed for everyone to see. Here are some pictures of the night and some pics of my attempt at creativity.

All ready to go!

We had tiki torches lit on both sides of our driveway so no one would go to the wrong house :)

Fire pit set up in the back

Food tents anxiously waiting for food!

Kellen's certificate finally arrived that day while he was at work! So I framed it as part of his surprise.

You can't see it very well here, but I had sand buckets everywhere for decoration (stuffed with multicolored tissue paper) or for trash; by the bottles I had one for bottle caps.

The drink table all ready to go....
complete with the sparklers in a vase wrapped in a bright red bow for some color.

Summer mantle

I had an old Uppercase Living expression I hadn't used yet, so I found an old wooden crate, stained it, and applied it to the bottom. It turned out pretty cute!

The centerpieces were made out of baby watermelons!

Great friends

Group shot of the ladies

Kel is so proud (or embarrassed of me, not quite sure)
As you can see, this was the 1st balloon I tried to write on, as evidenced by the mangy 'P'

We tried to get couples pics and didn't get very far...so sorry if we missed you!

Jason and Gretchen

Leo and Megan

Michael and Liz

Okay so I know they aren't a couple..but beautiful ladies at least ;)

What 4th of July party would be complete without...
SPARKLERS!

Kel and his P.E. cake

Megan is so cute
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I had to include this picture...this is what happens when you bring a bunch of balloons inside the house! oops
