Anyone out there have emotional days? Today is one of them for me. I am sure it is just the hormones, but it feels so real. This morning I went out to my garden, of which I just painfully worked my tail off weeding last week, and it looked like I never even touched it. I bawled my eyes out. Seriously? I am aware of how pathetic that is. I keep walking into our 'under construction' mess of a nursery and that's when the real emotion swells and swells. MAN what a journey this has been. Will I be able to carry this child to term? Will I be a good mother? How the heck are we going to do this? Will I be what this baby needs me to be? Will I be able to continue to be the wife that Kellen needs me to be? Same as a daughter (in-law), sister (in-law), friend, nurse? I am so excited and scared to death right now. AND the tears keep coming. Haha it probably doesn't help that I'm watching Oprah's last show full of self-reflection and empowerment. Am I crazy?

First 'Family' Vacation!
As many of you know, we had our first 'family' vacation with baby Poppyseed! Way back at Christmas, before our families knew our happy secret, my parents surprised us with a trip with Disney World with my brother, Cameron, and his girlfriend, Amber. We had a great time! I will admit, however, that I think I would have enjoyed it a bit more if it hadn't been 95 degrees each day, I wasn't 6 months prego, and it wasn't constantly go-go-go-go with all the walking. Come the 3rd day, I swallowed my pride and rocked the wheelchair! I figured it was either this or spending the day in our hotel room. Best $13 ever spent! We made some wonderful memories and were so lucky to be given this wonderful trip! Here are some pics of the highlights.
Fresh off the plane at Animal Kingdom
The water view outside our room at Port Orleans French Quarter, on our way to dinner at 'Ohana
Epcot
Bus Station
Nemo is one of my most favorite Disney movies!
I'm pretty sure we rode those clamobiles 10 times!
World Showcase
"It's the Wurst"
| We had a wonderful dinner at Le Cellier Steakhouse (in Canada) |
| Cameron and Amber |
Magic Kingdom!
The Buzz Lightyear ride was one of our favorites
Prime spot to see the parade! Ha I guess that's what having a wheelchair gets you!
Love him!
Even watching the Tea Cups made me sick
We were waiting at the bus station and Kel was talking to me and with the planters behind him, I couldn't look at him with a straight face because he totally had Mickey Mouse ears!
What Disney trip would be complete without a character dinner?
This is one thing I've been Jonesin' for lately- slushies...and Downtown Disney had a WALL of them!
Hollywood Studios
I loved Lady and the Tramp when I was little!
On our last night there, Kellen and I had a nice little date at Chefs de France: a french restaurant based off the movie Ratatouille. It was adorable and one of our favorite meals
What a fun place to ring in turning 25 weeks!
It was so fun to see all of the children throughout the park- and anticipate what it might be like in the future with our family (and how much work its going to be!). I also got to check out a ton of strollers and baby gear for ideas ;)

Garden started/illness
Well, I am attempting to do a much scaled-down version of our garden again this year. We decided to do more cooler-weather things now with quick harvests and only have the basics for later in the summer (tomatoes, green peppers, and cucumbers).....because by then we will have something a bit more important to tend to! Plus bending over is already becoming a bit of a challenge for me anymore.

In the upper right corner you can see the asparagus from last year going crazy! It was still a bit small to harvest this year, but next year it should be good.

And of course we have to have our cucumbers! Attempting to trellis them this year so they don't take over our yard.
I'm glad I got this started when I did because this week I have been out for the count with a horrible respiratory infection. Not the way I wanted to ring in the 24wk mark! It just started out as what seemed to be a small head cold or sinus infection, but within 24 hrs I was pretty sick and miserable. I'm not sure how long I was in bed! I had coughing (which made me have a horrible gag reflex and emesis), sore throat, pounding head, popping ears, and burning in my chest (if felt like an elephant was sitting on it!) After about 2 days, I could barely eat or drinking anything. I weighed myself and I was down 6 lbs in 2 days :( SO into the doctor I went to make sure that the baby was doing okay. Thankfully, all was okay. HR was strong at 150. My OB said that when you get sick while you are pregnant it is 10X magnified because of the hormones and my body does everything to keep the baby okay at my own expense....wonderful! They said it was a bad case of bronchitis and dehydration....So to antibiotics and weight checks I go! They almost did IV fluids but decided to hold off to see if I could gain weight on my own, and today I was up 1/2 a lb so that's good. Talk about cutting it close- we are leaving for Disney on Sunday. At least it happened this time this week and not next!
