Cloud NINE

Well I am sure many of your have heard of the arrival of sweet Baby Heavin! IT'S A GIRL!  Paige Clara Heavin made her entrance into our lives on Friday, August 26th at 6:30pm. The Heavin household is on cloud nine right now. We are sleep deprived, up to our elbows in laundry and visitors, and we couldn't be more joyful. I don't have much time to do a long blog (nor do I want to be away from my sweet Paige any longer than I need to be!) so here is the short of the long of our amazing 'labor day'!

Labor was great! I rocked the birth ball and blue popsicles.
Contractions woke me up at 3am, monitored them and labored home for a while before calling.
Admitted to L&D at 10am, they broke my water around 12:30. I went as long as I could without an epidural but around 3:30 I couldn't take it anymore. I was only getting about 45sec of rest between each and couldn't take it anymore. I fell asleep for an hour after getting it from exhaustion and woke up to the doctor saying 'okay, ready to push?' Now that's the way to do it! I pushed through 10 contractions and she came out crying like a champ. Kellen looked me in the eyes, and through tears told me it was a girl. Our world was perfect and now complete. They put her on my chest and she looked right at me. I will never ever ever ever forget that moment between Kellen and me.

 First family photo!

Our going home picture. I love her little attitude already!

 Happy daddy at home, finally!

This has been such a crazy journey and we are so blessed. Thank you everyone for your love and support, as well as well wishes. I will try to post as much as I can, but no promises! Paige is way cuter to look at than a computer screen ;)

I was 38weeks yesterday! I think this baby grew a crazy amount in the last week, what do you think?

Yesterday at 38!

I finally have a shelf tummy!
The plate sat there for about a minute, before this little peanut kicked it off.

Ask Moxie

My friend Bri introduced me to this website and I. Am. Addicted. I love how candid, and real, she is and I know it will help me through some difficult times, soon to come!

Nursery is finally done!

Well, nothing like waiting until the last minute! The nursery is finally done and we are so thrilled with it. It couldn't have turned out more perfect. I think my favorite part is that we designed it from the ground up, literally, with no matching theme or brands. Plus, with there being so many pieces of sentimental value from family and friends, we can't imagine a better place to welcome this bundle of love into!  How cool it is to see your ideas come to life. Here is my first blog posting I shared with our ideas.

Kel started on my old nursery furniture when I was around 29wks.

Big brother Cap Wap was a good helper :)

 Bringing home our recliner!

 picking paint colors
painting finished, crib put together...room is looking pretty bare!
Tada! Gretchen did such an amazing job on the bedding.
I couldn't have imagined anything more perfect!
I found this canopy at Ikea and just covered the rim with some leftover fabric to tie it in.

 The curtains are so fun!
funky tie backs from Ikea

I am obsessed with this light pendant. It looks like an upside down artichoke.

And here is the finished dresser!
Kellen did an amazing job refinishing everything.
The miss-matched knobs are way fun, too.

 Finished changing station/dresser

These are some photos from Mallory's trip to Africa, as I mentioned in the previous blog.

View when you walk into the room.
I feel like photos never give anything justice!

I think this sums it up...we are getting a bit antsy!!

36+3 weeks!
i feel like this belly has doubled in two days (and so do my ribs). i dont know how much bigger i can grow!
we are still measuring about 2 weeks small, but everything else is fine and that is all that matters. i am fine with a small baby! still working full time (if not more with extra classes, hiss) and its going pretty well. the 12hr days of standing are starting to get a big harder but i can do it.
at my last apt i have already started to dilate and efface, and the baby is engaged- the doc could feel the head....things are moving along ;) she said continuing to work like i am will definitely speed things up.
the car seat is in, childbirth prep classes done, and bags are packed by the door. THIS IS CRAZY!
